The Cold Winter, Numb Heart

Snow hearts, soft hearts

Floating on icy fingers

Falling from Cousin Jack's blue scarf

As he leans out/ Over my

Window/ His fingers reaching out.

To promise me a cold heart

He tells me I won't feel no more

And safe I'll be at nights again

I want to let his grip

Into the shadows of my thoughts

To be carried away on the North Wind

A place far away my ventus friends like

To call their own

But she won't take me home/ Oh no

We'd rather visit her sister South

A wind less civil howling

Her rude protests that mussed

My hair and made me smile

And I felt my heart's protest

As it sank into a gale

Vengeance blowing past with fury on its lips

Loath to leave my friends

For the winds they gave me word

To take tea at the palace

Of the Snow Queen's summer.land

Where roses and snow hearts

Grow on crystal bushes made

From deadly silver icicles

And I wonder if she'll keep me there

Place her hand upon my wrist

Piercing with her azure gaze

The fog deep in my heart

Her splintery brittle smile of pride

I wished upon my skin

It's chilling caresses and cruel laugh

To look into my soul

And see the tundra waste

That rages in the mist
